Creating Group Sale Tickets

Easily set up bundled ticket options for groups in just a few steps

27 Jan, 2026

Setting up Group Sale Tickets on Event Live allows you to offer bundled ticket options that encourage attendees to purchase in groups—perfect for families, friends, or organizations attending together. This setup gives your event flexible pricing tiers while simplifying group purchases for buyers.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through each step of creating a Group Sale—from building your Master Layer and adding Child Layers, to publishing your tickets and verifying that everything is set up correctly.

Step 1: Creating Master Layer

1
Go to the Ticket Page

On your event dashboard, click Tickets from the side panel to open the Ticket Page

2
Create Layer Master

To create your first ticket, you’ll need a Master Ticket Layer. Click Create Ticket Layers on the right side of the screen (next to Expand All).

3
Fill out the Ticket Form

Fill out the ticket form with the required details:

  • Name

  • Label

  • Fulfillment Type

  • Access Control Date and Time Control

  • Available Quantity

  • Description

  1. IMPORTANT: On the same form, navigate to Group Sale and click Yes.

  2. Navigate to Group Count and enter the number of tickets in a group order (E.g. If you want this Group Sale Ticket to have an inclusion of four tickets, type the value: 4)

4
Click Save

Step 2: If you need to add tiers on your Group Sale

If your event offers multiple pricing tiers for the same ticket type (such as Early Bird or Day of Show), you can add them as Child Layers under the Master Layer.

Example setup:

  • Master Layer: General Admission Group Sale Ticket

  • Child Layer 1: General Admission Group Sale – Early Bird

  • Child Layer 2: General Admission – Advanced

  • Child Layer 3: General Admission – Day of Show

To add a Child Layer:

1
Create Child Layer

On the Master Layer you created, click the “+” button to add a child layer

2
New Step

A form will appear—fill it out with the same info as the Master Layer, but update the Name, Label, and Price for each tier as needed.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the price you enter is the price of the number of tickets on the Group Count you entered (E.g. If you entered 4 tickets in the Group Count, the price you enter here will be the price of all 4 tickets in the Group Sale)

3
Click Save

Step 3: If You need to Create More Group Sale Tickets

If your event includes multiple group ticket categories (such as VIP, Upper Box, or Balcony), repeat Step 1 and Step 2 for each new ticket type.

Step 4: Getting your Tickets Live on the Website

1
Go to Ticket Channels

From the side panel, under Tickets, go to Ticket Channels.

2
Create a Ticket Channel

Click on Create Ticket Channel located on the right side corner and enter the Ticket Channel Details

  • Name of Group Sale Ticket Channel

  • Select Layout Type

  • Optionally, add a description for the Ticket Channel

3
Click Save

4
Verify Group Sale Ticket

To very if you have successfully created and setup your event tickets, click View Event on the upper right corner of the page. If your tickets appear on the event page, your setup is successful.

FAQs

What is a Group Sale ticket?
A Group Sale ticket allows attendees to purchase multiple tickets in a single order at a bundled price. This is ideal for groups such as families, friends, or organizations attending together.
Is the price set per ticket or per group?
The price is set per group, not per individual ticket. For example, if the Group Count is set to 4, the price entered represents the total cost for all 4 tickets combined.
Can I create multiple pricing tiers for one Group Sale ticket?
Yes. You can create multiple pricing tiers (such as Early Bird, Advanced, or Day of Show) by adding Child Layers under the same Master Layer.
Can I create multiple Group Sale ticket types for one event?
Absolutely. You can create separate Group Sale tickets for different categories such as General Admission, VIP, or Upper Box by creating new Master Layers for each ticket type.
Can I sell both individual tickets and Group Sale tickets at the same time?
Yes. Group Sale tickets can be offered alongside individual ticket options, giving buyers more flexibility in how they purchase tickets.
What happens if I change the Group Count after tickets are published?
Changing the Group Count may affect pricing and ticket availability. It’s recommended to finalize your Group Count before publishing tickets or making them available for sale.
How can I confirm my Group Sale tickets are set up correctly?
Click View Event from your Event Dashboard and check that your Group Sale tickets appear correctly on the event page with the intended pricing and tiers.
