Ticket Unlock Code Feature

Easily restrict access to specific tickets with a unique code or password for your event

05 Mar, 2026

When managing exclusive access to tickets, setting up an unlock code or password is a simple and effective way to control who can view and purchase certain ticket types. This feature is especially useful for VIP sales, presale events, or private invitations. In this guide, we’ll walk you through two key steps: creating your unique code or password in the Event Dashboard and applying it to your selected tickets. By the end, you’ll be able to secure your event tickets with ease, ensuring only the right audience gains access.

Setting Up the Code or Password

  1. Go to your event's Event Dashboard

  2. On the side panel, click on Promote

  3. Click on Promotions beside the Legacy button

  4. Click on Add Promotions

  5. Fill in the necessary fields in the form

    • Name of Code

    • On Type choose either fixed or percent

    • Enter zero (0) on Value (Percent/Fixed)

    • Hover to Unlock Products and select the ticket that you want to to apply the Lock Code Feature on

    • On Codes, click and type the unique code/password. This code/password can be sent to specific people so they could access and purchase the locked tickets

    • Click Create (your unique code/password)

    • Hit Save

Applying the Code/Password to a Ticket

Note: Please kindly ensure that you have already created a ticket. If you have not, please refer to this article on how to create and setup a ticket.

  1. To apply the code/password to a ticket, click on Ticket on the side panel

  2. Hover to the ticket you want to apply the lock code feature on and click on the edit button ✎ (pencil icon)

  3. Hover to Lock Configuration and click Locked

  4. Hover to Unlock Codes and select the code you have created

  5. Optional: You may or may not setup the Lock Start Date and End Date

    • Lock Start Date is the date the ticket will be locked and only customers with the correct password/code will be able to access and purchase the tickets

    • Lock End Date is the date the ticket will be unlocked and ALL customers will be able to access and purchase the tickets even without a password

  6. Hit Save

To ensure that your ticket lock code is properly applied, go to View Event on the upper right corner. You will be redirected to the event site and ensure that the tickets you have applied the lock code feature on have the lock icon 🔒.
